All the required control and regulating devices are installed in two separate cabinets: a power cabinet for the electrical system; a control cabinet for the instrumentation & control system. The control cabinet is connected to the power cabinet by 15m of interconnecting cable (cable trays are not provided). The PC is provided with 6m of cable for RS232 connections to the PLC. Optional longer cables can be provided, which makes the communication protocol change to RS422, for cable lengths over 15m. A recorder and printer are provided as standard with the control system.

Equipment components are connected to terminals in the power cabinet and ready for use. The terminals are numbered to provide a clear identification.The power cabinet includes all the necessary components to ensure the safe operation of the plant, including main power connections and isolation, to match the local supply, transformers and power supplies for control. Where practical skid control voltages are 24V DC to maimize system safety.
